Frequently Asked Questions

When & Why was Serenity Farm Founded
Driven by two core beliefs—that everyone deserves access to healthy food and that women have the right to financial independence—Serenity Farms Foundation Ghana was established to empower rural women and the youth with profitable opportunities in the poultry industry. By emphasizing sustainable practices such as soil management through composting and regenerative farming with heirloom seeds, this initiative supports stronger food systems while equipping women and the youth with the tools they need to achieve economic freedom.

What is Regenerative Farming?
Regenerative farming looks at the bigger picture than a single component of farm management. There isn't a clear definition but below are a few pointers. Incorporating crop rotation and cover cropping. Increasing plant and crop diversity. In order to prevent erosion and increase soil health, practice conservative tillage and use a no-dig method. Composting to control waste. Animal integration, managed grazing and pasturing. Using animals to control pests. Pest infestations can also indicate something is wrong with your soil.

Why Regenerative Farming In Afrika?
Afrika's farmers are artisans who have farmed using the same technique for generations. Outside forces introduce chemical fertilizers, pestersides and genetically modified seeds to communities with limited understanding of the consequences. Serenity Farms aims to show by example why composting, understanding soil biology and regenerative methods and sustainability are better alternatives.

Why Ghana?
Ghana was chosen because it is a peaceful country with a growing awareness of regenerative, sustainable and organic farming practices.
